09.00 - 12:30 Workshop B: Corporate Social Responsibility in Effective Security Operations

Rationale

Companies operating in the energy sector often struggle to understand the impact they may have on communities in which they place their footprint. They face a multitude of security-related risks and challenges, especially in remote and potentially hostile locations. These risks and challenges can often be addressed with an exceptional Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. This workshop will allow security specialists and corporate managers to pursue a strategy of integration with the community, analysing the importance as part of a company’s CSR initiatives on security and human rights. Obtain the skills to develop key policies and processes to support cutting edge commitment to socially responsible behaviour, therefore minimising your organisation’s reputational risk and enhancing integrity.

Key Benefits

  • Recognise risks associated with corporate footprints in hostile locations
  • Understand CSR expectations regarding community engagement
  • Identify the inextricable link between community engagement and security and human rights
  • Use IPIECA tools and techniques for the management of security and human rights
